About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Marine Steel Fabricator to join our team at Avantis Marine North America Inc. as a Steel Fitter Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating and installing steel components for marine vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Management: Determine the materials required for each project and ensure they are procured in a timely manner.
  • Engineering Interpretation: Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to plan methods and sequences of operation.
  • Layout and Fabrication: Lay out reference points and patterns, and plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently.
  • Quality Control: Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
  • Installation: Install fabricated components in final products.
Work Environment

As a Marine Steel Fabricator, you will work in a fast-paced environment with various locations and marine settings. You will be required to work in confined spaces and handle heavy loads.

Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Security Clearance: Basic security clearance is required.
  • Physical Demands: The role requires physically demanding work, including overtime and handling heavy loads.
