Role Overview:

As a VTS Testing Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to generate critical data for process design and enhancement, ensuring that process parameters align with client specifications and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) studies. You will also create a comprehensive library of process data and conditions to accommodate a diverse array of operational scenarios.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma, post-secondary education, skilled trade, or equivalent experience in engineering.
  • Several years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in engineering principles and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory or plant operations, basic maintenance, and/or process control.
  • Prior experience with piping systems or plumbing.
  • Mechanical aptitude for equipment and repair tasks.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) or Temperature Swing Adsorption (TSA) operations.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation.

Success Metrics in This Role:

  • Safely operate the single bed test unit (VTS), including startup, shutdown, process tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor process data, including pressure, temperature, flow rate, and gas compositions.
  • Conduct instrument calibration (mass spectrometer, flow controllers, flow meters) and collect gas samples.
  • Maintain detailed logs and records for each test conducted daily.
  • Document any variances or issues during testing and communicate with team members and supervisors.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks and manage the inventory of replacement parts as necessary.
