The Application Remediation Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the readiness and operability of applications and databases within the HealthBC environment. This position will be responsible for leading the planning and execution of readiness activities, including installation, testing, remediation, packaging, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities- Application Readiness and Remediation: Plan and execute the end-to-end application readiness process, including engaging clients, vendors, and technical teams to complete installation and testing.
- Technical Solutioning: Facilitate meetings and provide thought leadership to remediate issues and ensure operability in the HealthBC environment.
- Packaging and Quality Assurance: Package and QA applications and databases, ensuring they meet the required standards.
- Client Engagement: Engage with clients to understand their requirements and provide expert recommendations to influence new solution acceptance.
- Project Management: Lead and engage technical teams, service providers, and vendors to ensure readiness and holistic end-to-end delivery of solutions.
- Knowledge Management: Maintain current knowledge on new developments in application readiness techniques and evaluate internal testing and remediation methodologies for gaps relative to emerging best practices.
- Documentation: Develop manual installation instruction sets and other related process documentation to ensure there is no negative impact on clinical or business workflows.
- Communication: Engage with clients, including senior site stakeholders and department managers, and maintain ongoing communication as part of fulfilling the role's core accountabilities.
- Education and Experience: A degree in information technology or a related discipline, with one or more certifications in application packaging, and five to seven years of recent related experience in IT disciplines from an enterprise environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge in packaging methodologies, including AdminStudio Repackager, Installshield, and Microsoft App-V sequencer.
- Business Acumen: Ability to translate clinical and business needs to technical solution requirements and apply multiple technical solutions to resolve technical issues.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent demonstrated analytical and technical skills, with experience in exercising strong communications and interpersonal skills to effectively relate to a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Organizational and Time Management Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with demonstrated experience in adhering to standardized procedures and strong process orientation.
- Cultural Competence: Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
