About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Convenience Store Manager to join our team at Sue-Gar Variety. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our convenience store, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Management: Manage and supervise a team of 3-4 staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service and efficient store operations.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and analyze trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes, and competitor activity, informing decisions on merchandise and services to be sold.
  • Merchandise and Services: Determine the range of merchandise and services to be sold, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market trends.
  • Marketing Strategies: Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to drive sales growth and increase customer engagement.
  • Financial Management: Plan and manage budgets, monitor revenues and expenses, and make informed decisions to optimize store performance.
  • Recruitment and Training: Recruit, hire, and train staff members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent customer service and meet store objectives.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a retail or convenience store environment.
  • Computer and Technology Skills: Proficiency in point of sale systems, inventory control software, computerized bookkeeping systems, and spreadsheet software.
  • Personal Suitability: Analytical, creative, efficient, energetic, integrity, positive attitude, time management, excellent oral and written communication, organized, and ability to multitask.
Work Environment

The Convenience Store Manager will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, handling heavy loads, and standing for extended periods. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, be able to multitask, and possess a positive attitude.
