Job Title: Director of Human Resources

Reporting to the Associate Superintendent of Personnel, the Director of Human Resources is a leadership role accountable for developing, implementing, directing, and evaluating the Human Resource functions for the Red Deer Catholic Regional School Division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops the capability of the Human Resource Department through appropriate performance management, employee relations, engagement, training, job performance, and development of staff.
  • Develops and implements HR policies, procedures, and programs to support the strategic goals of the school division.
  • Ensures adherence to legislation, labor standards, government, and regulatory requirements, as well as Division policies and procedures.
  • Identifies and mitigates HR-related risks to protect the school division and its employees.
  • Provides sound advice and decision-making on a diverse variety of HR matters, working with other members of the division community and leadership, as well as external agencies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • CPHR or equivalent HR designation is required or working toward the designation.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive HR experience, including management roles in a unionized environment.
  • Strong HR generalist with extensive knowledge in all HR functions, including labor and human rights legislation, compensation, job evaluation, recruitment, retention, organization development, wellness, and talent management.
