About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ethnic Food Cook to join our team at RAJA THAI AND INDIAN CUISINE. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of ethnic dishes to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring that all dishes are presented to the highest standards.
  • Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Staff Training and Development: Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, and provide guidance and support to ensure that all staff are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
  • Inventory Management: Order supplies and equipment, and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment to ensure that the kitchen is well-stocked and organized.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean kitchen and work areas, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Setting: Restaurant.
  • Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, standing for extended periods, and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work Conditions: Attention to detail, fast-paced environment, overtime required, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and work under pressure.
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, dependability, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, reliability, team player, time management, and work term: permanent.
