About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Kitchen Assistant at IGA Famille Jodoin. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our food service area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare and cook simple food items, such as soups, salads, and sandwiches
    • Portion and wrap foods for customers
    • Serve customers at counters or buffet tables
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
    • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit
    • Scour pots and pans
  • Inventory and Supply Management
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas
    • Restock refrigerators and salad bars
  • Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service environment
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
