We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at IGA Famille Jodoin. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our food service area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare and serve food to customers in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.
    • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand.
    • Scour pots and pans.
  • Housekeeping and Sanitation
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas.
    • Remove kitchen garbage and trash.
    • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.
  • Inventory and Supply Management
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
    • Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service to customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
    • Take customers' orders and serve food and beverages.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service environment.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Work Environment
    • Urban area.
