About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Kitchen Assistant at IGA Famille Jodoin. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our dining area and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare and serve food to customers in a timely and efficient manner
    • Operate kitchen equipment, including dishwashers, ovens, and fryers
    • Prepare and package take-out food
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
    • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service to customers in a friendly and courteous manner
    • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Inventory Management
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas
    • Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure adequate stock
  • Teamwork and Communication
    • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to resolve any issues or concerns
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a kitchen or food service environment
  • Skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
    • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, standing for extended periods and handling heavy loads. The ability to multitask and work in a team environment is essential.
