Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in an Alternative Level of Care Unit at Milton District Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in various clinical areas.
  • Assume responsibility for the coordination of care, patient and family education, and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction.
  • Administer medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
  • Document observations, assessments, and changes in patient condition.
  • Collaborate with health team members to facilitate positive patient care outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current BCLS Certification at time of hire.
  • Recent practical nursing experience in acute medicine an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Caring attitude with patients, families, and co-workers.
  • Must be physically able to perform the duties of the job, which involves heavy lifting and intensive physical effort.
  • Strong physical assessment skills required.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills, with an ability to set priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates commitment to continuing education.
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care. The position requires the ability to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as weekends and holidays.
