Position Overview

As a Licensed Practical Nurse within the 2 North Regional Unit, your primary role will be to implement the nursing process in the delivery of patient care across various clinical settings. You will be responsible for all aspects of the practical nursing process while providing direct care to patients.

Your duties will include:

  • Conducting assessments, planning, implementing, and evaluating care tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Coordinating care to ensure smooth transitions for patients throughout their healthcare journey.
  • Educating patients and their families while addressing factors that enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Administering medications and performing procedures in accordance with established protocols.
  • Documenting patient observations, assessments, and any changes in their condition.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary health team members to promote positive patient outcomes.
  • Providing comprehensive practical nursing care to patients.

Qualifications:

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Valid BCLS Certification at the time of employment.
  • Recent experience in acute medical settings is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • A compassionate approach towards patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Physical capability to perform duties that require heavy lifting and significant physical effort.
  • Demonstrated strong physical assessment skills (preference for candidates who have completed a physical assessment course).
  • Excellent critical thinking abilities, with a knack for prioritizing tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team framework.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Positive employment and attendance history.

Work Schedule: Various rotating shifts from Monday to Sunday; hours may vary based on operational needs.

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage.
