About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Manager to join our team at Magna. As a key member of our Inventory Control and Planning department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of our inventory across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective inventory management procedures to maintain high accuracy and minimize stockouts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve departmental goals and objectives
  • Implement and refine our Warehouse Management System to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs
  • Ensure timely and accurate inventory reporting and analysis to inform business decisions
  • Lead and develop a team of Material Analysts to achieve high performance and productivity
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and purchasing teams to achieve organizational objectives
  • Conduct regular inventory cycle counts and audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce slow-moving inventory and improve inventory turnover
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including safety and environmental regulations

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent in a related field, such as Supply Chain Management or Business Administration
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a multi-site manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record of achieving inventory reduction and cycle count program success
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, such as Solidat
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision

Desirable Qualifications

  • APICS CSCP certification or equivalent
  • Experience with ERP systems, such as Trans4M/CMI
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and process improvement techniques
  • Experience with inventory reconciliation and cycle counting
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively
