Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Program Assistant to join our team at the Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE). As an Educational Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of students with diverse abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including assistance with daily living skills, personal care, and behavior management.
  • Assist teachers and other educational staff in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior plans.
  • Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and academic skills.
  • Collaborate with other support staff and educational teams to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive educational environment.
Requirements
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and provide physical support as needed
  • Experience working with students with special needs, preferably in an educational setting
