Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Educational Program Assistant to join our team at the Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE). As an Educational Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of students, working collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to students with diverse needs, including those with autism and other exceptionalities
  • Assist with daily routines, such as toileting and personal care
  • Implement behavior management strategies and support students in developing pro-social skills
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Experience working with students with autism and other exceptionalities
  • Related diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution
