Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Program Assistant to join our team at the Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE). As an Educational Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs and abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with complex needs, including toileting, personal care, and use of assistive technology.
  • Assist with implementation and tracking of behavior targets, de-escalation strategies, and pro-social skills development.
  • Support students with seizure management and physiotherapy follow-up.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
Requirements
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Experience working with students with autism and other complex needs.
  • Related diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution.
