Mental Health Care Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Assessment Nurse to join our team at Providence Health Care. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our mental health services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments and interventions to patients presenting with mental health and/or substance use issues.
- Collaborate with emergency physicians, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct crisis interventions and provide stabilization services to patients in need.
- Participate in rounds and clinics to assess patient needs and develop care plans.
- Act as a clinical resource to nursing staff and other team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of education and training programs for nursing staff and other team members.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN/RPN registrant.
- Qualifications required of staff nurse in clinical area, plus three years of recent related experience in clinical specialty, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Ability to supervise and lead a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
