Role Overview:

The National Account Manager will be instrumental in strengthening the company’s market position among Canada’s leading building supply retailers. The primary objective of this role is to drive sales growth, enhance profit margins, and establish the company as a preferred partner for national accounts and major retailers. Collaborating closely with the Sales Director and regional sales teams, the National Account Manager will cultivate strategic partnerships, execute a comprehensive sales strategy, and facilitate the launch of innovative products.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Relationship Management
  • Develop and implement national account strategies to increase market share with targeted clients.
  • Establish and nurture high-level relationships with key decision-makers at major retailers.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
Sales Growth Management
  • Drive revenue growth and expand market share with national accounts.
  • Lead annual negotiations and performance reviews with buying groups and key accounts.
  • Guide and mentor a dedicated sales team to ensure effective execution of sales strategies.
Operational Support
  • Monitor team performance and ensure accountability for achieving sales targets.
  • Collaborate with product management on pricing and promotional strategies.
  • Work with supply chain teams to optimize inventory management and delivery efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Proven track record in sales growth and account management.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Expertise in product knowledge relevant to the industry.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the DIY home improvement sector or related fields.
  • Previous experience managing sales teams is essential.
  • Experience in retail omnichannel strategies is preferred.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical product features.
Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support client engagement.
  • Fluency in both English and French is an asset.
