Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our team at the University of New Brunswick. As a key member of our Finance team, you will play a critical role in providing strategic financial planning and reporting support to our university community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Guide and support the university community in the management of non-research restricted funds, including monitoring, reconciling, and reporting on external funding agreements.
  • Liaison and Stakeholder Management: Liaise with stakeholders and business partners on issues pertaining to restricted funds and accounting services.
  • Financial Analysis and Planning: Interpret, analyze, and consolidate financial data from various sources into financial reports to support unit leaders in decision making.
Internal Control, Policy Development, and Process Improvement
  • Internal Controls and Policy Development: Support and provide input on the development and implementation of internal controls, financial policies, and process improvements.
  • Compliance and Training: Ensure compliance with financial policies and the consistent application of related procedures. Provide training as required on financial systems, processes, and policies.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline with a Chartered Professional Accountant Designation (CPA)
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Skills: Effective interpersonal and communication skills, fund accounting experience, strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, and excellent planning and organizational skills.
