We are seeking a skilled and charismatic Host to join our team at Auberge du Pommier. As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage guest flow to maximize seating capacity and ensure a smooth dining experience
* Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and managers to maintain proper guest flow
* Escort guests to their tables, engage them in conversation, and seat them accordingly
* Accurately take reservations and modify guest status in Open Table
* Develop a briefing sheet before each shift to inform co-workers of shows, concerts, special events, and notable bookings
* Possess a working knowledge of the restaurant trade area, including location, surroundings, nearby attractions, and directions
* Ensure the front entrance, host stand, and surrounding areas are fully stocked and free from clutter and debris
* Maintain awareness of which servers are in each section and know all table numbers
* Fill out detailed special request forms for birthdays, anniversaries, notable bookings, etc., and ensure all co-workers are informed
* Maintain the cleanliness of the washrooms by completing checks regularly throughout the shift
* Follow all food safety standards and systems
Requirements
* High attention to detail
* Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
* Organizational skills and ability to multi-task
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum
* Minimum 1 year experience in customer service, restaurant experience considered an asset
