Position Overview:

Under the guidance of the Senior Associate Dean, the Academic Affairs Coordinator will facilitate the operational aspects of the graduate programs provided by EmergencyMD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and process applications for graduate programs in Business and Arts & Sciences.
  • Oversee the transcript assessment process.
  • Provide academic advising, which includes:
    • Assisting with course registration for both new and returning students.
    • Monitoring student progress and identifying those who may require academic probation notifications.
    • Assessing student eligibility for graduation and participation in commencement ceremonies.
    • Identifying course delivery requirements to support program management.
  • Generate communications for faculty, such as newsletters.
  • Maintain current internal and external faculty directories.
  • Assist in faculty recruitment efforts as needed.
  • Support the Senior Associate Dean with various academic and regulatory responsibilities.

Time Allocation:

45% Application processing for graduate programs

35% Academic advising

10% Faculty affairs, including recruitment and communications

10% Additional duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in administrative roles within an academic environment.
  • Exceptional proficiency in both written and spoken English.
  • Competence in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite, with a willingness to learn new software.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to execute essential job functions with minimal supervision.
  • Sound judgment to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Office management capabilities with a focus on independent work and accountability.
  • Flexibility and professionalism in interactions with visitors and stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • A commitment to values aligned with the mission of EmergencyMD.

Physical Requirements:

This position primarily involves sitting but may require standing, bending, and other movements. Tasks may include extensive use of a computer keyboard and other devices, necessitating fine motor skills and hand movements. All candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform these functions safely.

Qualifications:

  1. A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  2. A minimum of four years of relevant experience is essential.
  3. Experience in an educational setting is advantageous.
  4. A valid driver's license is necessary, complying with relevant regulations.
