Head of HSE, Security and Emergency Response

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of HSE, Security and Emergency Response to join our team at Volkswagen Canada. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our HSE, Security and Emergency Response teams to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead an interdisciplinary team to manage HSE, Security and Emergency Response activities during design, construction, and operation of our facilities.
- Develop and implement HSE, Security and Emergency Response policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks.
- Collaborate with external partners and regulators to ensure compliance with statutory Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.
- Develop and implement a site safety and environmental management system to comply with local regulations, international best practices, and internal PowerCo requirements.
- Develop, implement, and manage a risk management process for all site activities, substances, and hazards.
- Investigate Health, Safety, Environmental, Security, and Fire incidents, including statutory reporting and generation of improvement plans.
- Develop and implement a positive safety culture within PowerCo Canada.
- Master's Degree in a Health, Safety, or Environmental subject.
- ~10+ years of experience in a Health, Safety, or Environmental role as a regulator or within a regulated facility.
- ~ Minimum of 5 years of HSE experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team and working as a regulator or in a regulated facility.
- ~ Minimum of 2 years' experience of working in large-scale construction processes and implementation of construction best practices.
- ~ Development, implementation, and management of Major Accident Hazard Assessments using the SEVESO 3 process.
- ~ Application, implementing, and management of environmental permits and/or construction permits.
- ~ Implementing and use of risk management tools in the design and operation of a manufacturing environment.
- ~ Development, implementation, and management of a workplace risk management process.
- ~ Development, implementation, and management of HSEMS systems to 45001 and 14001 accreditations.
- Solutions-driven, customer-centric approach with exemplary project management skills.
- Experience of working in the security or fire sectors.
