Job Title: Head of HSE, Security & Emergency Response

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) team at our St. Thomas, ON facility. As the Head of HSE, Security & Emergency Response, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our site, while also developing and implementing strategies to minimize our environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Lead a team of HSE professionals to manage and mitigate risks associated with our operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement opportunities for improvement in HSE performance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and effective communication.
  • Manage and implement emergency response plans to ensure the safety of employees, contractors, and the surrounding community.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs safely and effectively.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize our environmental impact, including waste reduction and recycling initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a Health, Safety, or Environmental field.
  • 10+ years of experience in a HSE role, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership position.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective HSE strategies and programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with our operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
