As the Climate Policy Integration Manager, you will spearhead a team of policy experts dedicated to formulating and executing strategies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the formulation, execution, and assessment of Alberta's climate policies and strategies, including the Emissions Reduction and Energy Development Plan.
  • Facilitate and provide guidance on policy development, ensuring cohesive integration across various governmental initiatives.
  • Perform comprehensive policy analysis and create work plans, policy briefings, and updates for senior management.
  • Engage with diverse stakeholders, including industry representatives, non-profit organizations, and governmental entities, to inform policy design and execution.
  • Ensure the production of high-quality impact assessments and offer strategic counsel on policy interactions at provincial, national, and international levels.
  • Encourage a collaborative work atmosphere, fostering professional development and innovative thought within the team.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A completed university degree in fields such as engineering, environmental science, environmental economics, sustainable development, political science, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in policy and program development, reporting, and evaluation.

Equivalencies may be considered: Additional relevant education may be evaluated in lieu of experience on a one-for-one basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of professional certifications related to environmental policy, project management, or leadership (e.g., PMP, LEED, etc.).
  • Broad knowledge of climate policies at the provincial, national, and international levels.
  • In-depth familiarity with climate policies and emissions reduction strategies across various governmental tiers.
  • Capability to provide strategic guidance and develop comprehensive policy recommendations.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for policy analysis and project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and align policy initiatives with overarching governmental and environmental objectives.
