Senior Civil and Structural Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist junior team members in executing various phases of studies, along with basic and detailed engineering tasks.
  • Conduct and review design calculations for structural frameworks.
  • Design concrete structures and foundations.
  • Coordinate with steel fabricators and review shop drawings.
  • Contribute to the preparation of drawings, design specifications, and reports.
  • Engage in the development of estimates, bills of quantities, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance of plans with guidelines, building codes, and other national and international standards.
  • Oversee adherence to construction timelines.
  • Draft contract documents and assess bids for construction initiatives.
  • Generate cost and time estimates, design reports, and specifications for assigned areas.
  • Participate in schedule development, ensuring alignment with contractual timelines, and devise corrective actions as necessary.
  • Validate and submit budget estimates.
  • Assist in contract preparation and negotiate modifications, changes, and additions to agreements.
  • Plan and produce detailed structural engineering drawings in both 2D and 3D, collaborating closely with engineers throughout the design process.
  • Review 2D drawings and 3D models for potential clashes and constructability with other disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural design.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in concrete and steel construction within heavy industry.
  • Experience in the mining industry and international projects is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with Sap2000 or ADA (Advance Design America) software.
  • Proficient communication skills in French and/or English; Spanish is a plus.
  • Competence in Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
