Full-time opportunity with GBi

GBi is seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Specialist to join our infrastructure division. This role involves overseeing projects for various public and private sector clients, including municipalities, educational institutions, and private sector developers across the Montreal, Montérégie, and Estrie areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess client requirements and provide cost estimates for civil engineering projects;
  • Gather necessary project documentation (existing plans, regulations, surveys, studies);
  • Design systems for water distribution, sewage management, and roadway infrastructure;
  • Perform hydraulic analysis and calculations;
  • Manage the execution of urban infrastructure projects;
  • Create and interpret technical drawings and specifications;
  • Calculate project quantities and associated costs;
  • Prepare applications for municipal permits and required authorizations;
  • Organize and oversee civil engineering project execution;
  • Ensure adherence to construction standards and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree preferred);
  • Licensed member of the Quebec Order of Engineers;
  • Experience in consulting engineering;
  • At least eight (8) years of experience focusing on infrastructure (sewer systems, water supply, roadways);
  • Knowledge of effective stormwater management techniques;
  • Proficiency in drainage modeling software (SWMM) and water distribution modeling (EPANET);
  • Understanding of standards and regulations for water supply and sewage systems;
  • Willingness to travel to various project locations;
  • Strong collaborative skills;
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid remote environment;
  • Eager to contribute to a team that values individual contributions and meets project timelines.
