About the Role:

As a key member of the AGF Investments team, the Strategic Product Leader will play a critical role in driving the development and execution of the company's ambitious product strategy. Reporting to the Chief Marketing & Product Officer, this individual will lead the expansion of AGF's private and liquid alternatives solutions, as well as the evolution of its global equity and fixed income offerings.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Oversee investment products research, peer and landscape analysis to identify new product opportunities and develop business cases for new investment products.
  • Develop and present strategic plans for new investment products, including competitor analysis, market intelligence, and sizing.
  • Advise the business on optimal product structures and characteristics for distribution globally, considering vehicle structures and regulatory regimes.
  • Collaborate with Product Operations and Governance to manage the execution of launches, partnering with senior stakeholders to drive implementation.
  • Oversee strategic product restructuring initiatives to enhance the company's product offerings.
  • Serve as a senior member of the team, managing junior/mid-level team members and building strong relationships with internal teams across the business.
  • Participate in industry body working groups and engage with industry associations to stay up-to-date on market trends and best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing & Innovation to support Distribution with effective marketing plans and materials, knowledge, and training for product structures and investment solutions.

Your Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in investment product development and/or global product structuring, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in structuring alternative investment solutions.
  • Knowledge of Canadian, U.S., and Europe-domiciled investment product-related vehicles, including a working knowledge of investment strategies and styles employed by fixed income, equity, and alternative portfolio managers.
  • Knowledge of pool fund trusts, limited partnerships, LLCs, offshore feeders, UCITs is preferred.
  • Understanding of operational aspects of alternative product development, such as capital call processes.
  • Strong knowledge of investment industry services and distribution channels.
  • People management experience.
  • Ability to build relationships with teams across the organization, excellent interpersonal skills, working effectively with individuals across cultures, functions, and levels of seniority.
  • Undergraduate degree required. Additionally, CFA, MBA, or Masters in Finance or Economics, CAIA is a plus.
