Position Summary: The Aviation Ground Services Specialist plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of services for general aviation aircraft, crews, and passengers. This position involves operating ground support equipment and applying knowledge of company policies to provide outstanding service to clients and guests at the fixed base operation (FBO).
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver safe and efficient aircraft services, fostering a welcoming environment for customers and guests.
- Engage with coworkers, clients, vendors, and aircraft crews to meet customer service needs, ensuring clear and accurate communication to facilitate operational tasks.
- Perform aircraft servicing tasks as directed, including fueling, de-icing, lavatory services, ground power, and catering delivery.
- Operate various ground service equipment, such as fuel trucks, de-icing units, and tugs, to support aviation operations.
- Promote and deliver general aviation services to clients and guests.
- Maintain safe, clean, and secure ramp areas and operational environments.
- Transport passengers and cargo using shuttle vehicles.
- Handle luggage and cargo efficiently, ensuring proper loading and unloading procedures.
- Conduct fuel handling tasks, including quality control and documentation.
- Exhibit professional and friendly customer service, demonstrating a positive attitude and courtesy at all times.
- Comply with and enforce operational, safety, and customer service protocols.
- Adhere to security protocols as mandated by the company and the airport.
- Maintain accurate records of time worked and services performed.
- Follow emergency response procedures during critical events.
- Propose enhancements to operational standards and practices to management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Valid state driver's license; a commercial driver's license may be required based on local regulations.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug tests, and maintain airport security credentials.
- Legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
- Willingness to complete required training programs successfully.
- Ability to pass a color vision test for fuel inspection.
- Proficient in computer usage and email communication.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Basic arithmetic skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Preferred: Experience in aviation or customer service.
