Position Overview

As the Global Head of Financial Planning and Analysis at Solmax International Inc., you will take charge of the FP&A team, steering the financial planning operations throughout the organization. Your role will involve close collaboration with executive leadership to deliver insightful analyses and strategic recommendations aimed at enhancing financial performance. This position demands exceptional leadership capabilities, a comprehensive grasp of financial modeling and analysis, and the capacity to influence key stakeholders effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the annual budgeting and forecasting activities, ensuring they align with the strategic objectives and financial goals of the company.
  • Create and sustain financial models that facilitate decision-making and scenario analysis. Analyze financial outcomes and variances, pinpointing significant trends and performance drivers.
  • Prepare comprehensive presentations and reports for senior leadership and the Board of Directors. Collaborate with various departments and regional leaders to provide financial insights and support cross-functional initiatives, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives within financial planning processes and systems, while driving various data management finance projects to enhance financial systems.
  • Lead and nurture a high-performing FP&A team, offering coaching and professional development opportunities.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to recommend enhancements in FP&A methodologies.
  • Manage the capital expenditure process, including approvals, tracking, and post-implementation evaluations.
  • Oversee the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and report on company-wide performance, providing guidance to regional business units based on global best practices.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred. A proven track record (typically 8+ years) in financial planning and analysis, with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and variance analysis.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; familiarity with financial planning software is advantageous.
  • Ability to convey complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the capability to inspire and develop a team.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to consider the broader business context and drive continuous improvement. CPA, CFA, or CMA certification is a plus. Experience in an international manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, SAP) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Willingness to travel internationally up to 15% of the time.
