Job Purpose

As a Software Verification and Validation Engineer at Dana, you will be an active member of the verification and validation department's team, working closely with product development teams to ensure the highest quality of software products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, develop, and conduct test scripts and test cases according to ASPICE/ISO 26262 methodology and standards.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of software testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, white box testing, and black box testing.
  • Write software testing reports and documentation for faults as they arise.
  • Conduct all qualification tests and regression testing on HIL bench (Dspace).
  • Update the model, prepare documentation, and layouts for the test bench set-up/HIL set-up.
  • Participate in the review of work provided by all members of the team.
  • Ensure test cases are created or revised for the requirements called out in the current release plan.
  • Support and align cross-functional teams in development and system engineering, root cause analysis.
  • Instrument and test applications.
  • Review and record any test environment configuration changes.
  • Coordinate and notify all schedule changes with all impacted parties.
  • Enter all noteworthy information into program test log.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Electronics and TeleCommunication, Instrumentation & Controls, Electronics engineering, or equivalent.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience in Mechatronics Software testing.
  • Experience of working in the automotive sector, preferably on EV side.
  • Good knowledge of software testing methodologies, including software qualification, hardware in the loop, software in the loop, white box, and black box testing.
  • Essential experience in development of automated test cases for software qualification on HIL bench.
  • Essential experience with dSPACE tools (Control Desk, Automation Desk, Configuration Desk, Test Authoring Framework (TAF), SYNECT), or similar HIL test automation tools like NI, Vector, ETAS, etc.
  • Essential experience with Python scripting.
  • Essential experience with automotive communication tools (i.e., Vector CANape, CANoe, CAPL, CANalyzer).
  • Knowledge of ASPICE/ISO 26262 standard, fault injection, and functional safety-related testing (up to ASIL D) at the software level.
  • Knowledge of calibration tools from Vector/ETAS/ATI Vision is preferred.
  • Knowledge of automotive communication bus systems and protocols (i.e., CAN, CCP, XCP, UDS, J1939).
  • Preferred experience with MATLAB/Simulink for plant model development and modification for HIL testing.
  • Preferred experience with NI Tools (LabView, TestStand, VeriStand).
  • ALM tool (Polarion, Doors, PTC Integrity).
  • Testing mindset and excellent logical reasoning.
