Position Overview

We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineering Lead to become a key member of our Data & AI Platforms division. This team is responsible for the foundational data and generative AI frameworks that support our B2B SaaS offerings. As a company focused on data-centric insights, the dependability, scalability, and performance of our data and AI platforms are crucial to our service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and develop functionalities for data platforms to ensure robust and scalable data ingestion, storage, validation, governance, monitoring, and observability.
  • Design and implement AI platform capabilities to facilitate the efficient development of high-quality multimodal generative AI applications, including tools for accuracy, evaluation, and compliance.
  • Exhibit comprehensive ownership of projects from inception to completion, including executing well-structured proof of concept strategies.
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, guiding fellow engineers in completing specific tasks within the broader project framework.
  • Adopt and implement best practices in software, data, and ML/AI engineering, covering the software development lifecycle, testing, scaling, and performance enhancement.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to align on priorities and address the needs of various departments within Informa Group Plc.
  • Document essential platform methodologies and frameworks for organizational use.
  • Identify and integrate innovative technologies and tools to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to foster team development.
  • Assist product teams in leveraging platform tools and frameworks effectively.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Familiarity with Java or Scala is advantageous.
  • Experience with Spark is essential.
  • Knowledge of generative AI (LLMs, RAG, AI agents) is preferred.
  • Experience in MLOps is a plus.
  • Expertise in data engineering best practices, including ETL/ELT processes, data monitoring, and validation techniques.
  • Experience with large-scale data processing and distributed computing.
  • Background in production support.
  • A minimum of 4 years of professional experience, with 6+ years preferred.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to learning new skills and technologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
