Position OverviewWe are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineering Lead to become a vital part of our Data & AI Platforms division. This team is responsible for the shared data and generative AI ecosystems that underpin our B2B SaaS offerings. As a company focused on data-driven insights, the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our data and AI platforms are essential to our product success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and develop data platform capabilities to ensure scalable and dependable data ingestion, storage, validation, governance, monitoring, observability, ELT methodologies, and more.
- Design and implement AI platform features to facilitate the effective development of production-grade multimodal generative AI applications, including tools for accuracy, evaluation, and safety measures.
- Exhibit comprehensive ownership of projects from inception to completion, including the execution of well-structured proof of concept strategies.
- Convert high-level directives into actionable project plans, guiding fellow engineers in completing specific tasks as part of the overall workflow.
- Apply software, data, and ML/AI engineering best practices, encompassing the software development lifecycle, testing, scaling, performance enhancement, and more.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to comprehend the priorities and requirements of various departments within Informa.
- Document essential platform methodologies and frameworks for organization-wide use.
- Proactively discover and integrate new technologies and tools to boost efficiency and productivity.
- Conduct code evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support team members.
- Assist product teams in utilizing platform tools and frameworks effectively.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Familiarity with Java or Scala is advantageous.
- Experience with Spark is essential.
- Knowledge of generative AI (LLMs, RAG, AI agents) is preferred.
- Experience in MLOps is a plus.
- Expertise in data engineering best practices, including ETL/ELT, data monitoring, observability, and validation.
- Experience handling big data, including scaling data processing and distributed computing.
- Background in production support.
- A minimum of 4 years of professional experience; 6+ years is preferred.
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn new skills, tools, and technologies.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
