About the Role

Vantage Community Services is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Youth Counsellor – I. This role is responsible for providing a structured environment that fosters the development of personal and social functioning for young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain a therapeutic milieu that promotes the growth and development of each youth.
  • Develop and maintain a therapeutic relationship with youth through the implementation of the Circle of Courage model.
  • Participate in supervisory meetings, team meetings, and in-service training as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure the upkeep of the group care living space.
  • Administer medication according to policy and CAC standards.

Requirements

  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in Human Services such as Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Experience in working with young people is preferred.
  • Current Standard First Aid/Level C CPR, PIC, IRC, and Valid Driver's License are required.

Vantage Community Services offers a competitive salary range of $36,811 - $48,811, plus an additional shift differential for overnight shifts. We also provide a great benefit package, including health, dental, life, and disability coverage, a Registered Pension Plan, and generous vacation time.
