Altadore Program Counsellor

Wood's Homes is a leading mental health centre in Calgary, Alberta, dedicated to building good mental health and well-being in our community. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth and Family Counsellor to join our Altadore program.

Role Summary

The Youth and Family Counsellor will work closely with children, youth, and families, providing high-quality services and meeting the requirements of our Health and Safety Management System. This role involves implementing and maintaining a structured setting, participating in supervisory meetings, and executing various therapeutic responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Implement a structured setting to foster personal and social functioning for each client.
  • Participate in supervisory meetings, team meetings, and in-service training.
  • Provide therapeutic responsibilities for children, youth, and their families, including case management and intervention strategies.
  • Maintain the upkeep of the living space and ensure compliance with Licensing Department requirements.
  • Perform various tasks associated with program functioning, including meal preparation, cleaning, and transportation.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in Social Sciences, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Nursing, or related field.
  • Minimum two to four years of related experience.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Experience working with young people preferred.
  • Class 5 driver's license and own transportation required.

Wood's Homes offers a shift premium of $3.00 per hour for all hours worked between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am. We thank all applicants for their interest, but only those moving forward in the selection process will be contacted.
