We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth and Family Counsellor to join our team at Wood\u0027s Homes. As a leading mental health centre in Calgary, we provide specialized services to children, youth, and families in need.

About the Role

The Lighthouse Program is a community-based live-in program for children and youth aged 12 – 17 with complex service needs. As a Youth and Family Counsellor, you will work closely with clients, their families, and our multidisciplinary team to provide individualized support and guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic support and guidance to children, youth, and their families
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Participate in case conferences, intervention strategies, and other team meetings
  • Support clients with daily programming routines, meal preparation, and transportation
  • Maintain a safe and healthy living environment for clients
  • Participate in supervisory meetings, team meetings, and in-service training

Requirements

  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in a relevant field (Social Sciences, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Nursing)
  • Minimum 2-4 years of related experience
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Class 5 Driver\u0027s License and personal mode of transportation
