Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to take on the role of Director, Employee Relations. This position is pivotal in managing workplace risks and ensuring compliance with various policies and regulations.

Work Environment:
Hybrid model

Contract Duration:
12 months

Key Responsibilities:
  • Employee Conduct & Risk Management:
    Lead investigations into employee conduct, focusing on maintaining a respectful workplace and addressing breaches of the Code of Conduct.
  • External Networking:
    Engage with industry peers and advocacy groups to gather insights and monitor trends.
  • Regulatory Monitoring:
    Stay updated on regulatory changes and analyze data to identify emerging issues.

Advisory Role:
  • Guide senior management in resolving sensitive workplace matters, including performance and attendance issues.
  • Provide strategic advice on restructuring and terminations in collaboration with relevant partners.

Monitoring & Reporting:
  • Design and implement HR processes to track employee conduct and align with business objectives.
  • Analyze misconduct trends to provide actionable insights for prevention strategies.

Leadership Development:
  • Set employee goals that align with the team’s vision and values.
  • Deliver constructive feedback to enhance employee engagement and performance.
  • Support career development initiatives to build professional capabilities.
  • Promote a high-performance culture through open communication.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Employee Relations, Human Resources, or related fields.
  • Post-secondary education with a focus on human resources preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian employment laws.
  • Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in legal environments or law firms.
  • Bilingual in English and French.
