We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Officer to join our team at the Government of New Brunswick. As a Legal Officer, you will play a critical role in providing professional assistance and support with respect to various legislated processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Process applications and complaints filed with the Labour and Employment Board and ensure they comply with statutory and regulatory standards of procedure and documentation.
- Answer inquiries from the public with respect to various legislated processes.
- Assist with drafting of documents and correspondence in both official languages.
- Edit Board decisions prior to release.
- Assist with preparation of the Annual Report.
- Bachelor's degree in business/public administration, social sciences or other related discipline.
- Minimum of four (4) years related work experience, including experience in reading and interpreting legislation or a Law degree.
- Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.
- Knowledge of Applicable Legislation and the Department's Policies and Procedures.
- Planning and Organizing Skills.
