Position Overview:

The Human Resources Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the operational functions of the Human Resources department. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, this position encompasses a variety of tasks related to administration, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training, and offboarding. This is a contract position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to the Human Resources Manager and Generalist.
  • Address internal and external inquiries related to human resources or direct them to the appropriate team members.
  • Facilitate the pre-employment process, which includes managing personnel requisitions, posting job openings, coordinating interviews, and preparing employment offers.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new hires by conducting orientation sessions and entering employee information into HR systems.
  • Manage employee health and wellness programs, including enrollments, modifications, and terminations, ensuring accurate record-keeping and collaboration with Payroll and insurance providers.
  • Process employment-related documentation and ensure updates are accurately reflected in HR systems while liaising with relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and manage employee recognition initiatives.
  • Maintain and update content on the Human Resources intranet page.
  • Ensure the integrity of electronic personnel records, including the closure of files and archiving in accordance with guidelines.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field from a recognized institution, or equivalent experience.
  • At least two years of administrative experience within a human resources setting.
  • Familiarity with human resources processes and best practices.
  • Strong administrative and records management capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in various software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, ADP, and SuccessFactors.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and sensitive situations with discretion.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
