Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Director to join our team at our Dartmouth, NS location. This is a senior management role that will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to oversee all internal financial processes and provide leadership to direct reports and cross-functional departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the consolidation of financial results from operations and prepare financial reports for the Board of Directors and other stakeholders
  • Work with senior auditors to address technical accounting issues and establish accounting policies
  • Manage the relationship with external auditors
  • Develop and implement a budgeting and forecasting process
  • Engage with other financial professionals to address issues related to tax, risk management, and financing
  • Work with business unit controllers to establish internal controls over financial reporting
  • Advising portfolio companies on accounting issues and changes to corporate accounting policies
  • Manage the vendor relationship with our ERP provider
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure the needs of operations, sales, R&D, and capital projects are met
  • Manage the treasury function, including collection of sales, disbursement of funds, and maintaining relationships with banks
  • Work with currency advisors and brokers to minimize transaction costs and establish hedging strategies
  • Liaise with group controllers to facilitate investment or cash transfers
  • Liaise with equity investors and manage relationships
  • Manage CTDI's financial reporting and relationships with CTDI shareholders
  • Manage annual insurance renewals

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in senior financial reporting roles
  • A strong financial educational background, with a Canadian CPA designation
  • MBAs or other post-secondary degrees/certifications are an asset
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly Xero, is an asset
