On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting for a Director of Strategic Program Operations to join their team of dedicated professionals in either Dartmouth or Sydney, NS.

The Director of Strategic Program Operations will ensure that all performance and financial targets are met across all program areas within Clean Foundation. This position will work closely with the COO and the VP of Program Delivery to implement deeper project management practices, mentor senior managers on financial acumen, and emphasize the importance of meeting all program performance and financial targets. The Director will provide strategic oversight and operational support to ensure the success of Clean Foundation's programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Performance Management:

  • Oversee the performance of all program areas to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement performance metrics to track program success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to execute operational improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide actionable feedback to senior managers.

Financial Oversight:

  • Mentor senior managers on financial acumen and generating a solid gross margin.
  • Develop and monitor budgets for all program areas to ensure financial sustainability and efficiency.
  • Analyze financial performance and implement corrective actions for programs not meeting financial targets.

Project Management:

  • Support the implementation and standardize project management practices across the organization.
  • Provide training and support to senior managers on project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Reporting and Communication:

  • Provide regular updates to the VP or Program Delivery, COO, and senior leadership team on program performance and financial status.
  • Facilitate open communication and collaboration among senior managers, the COO, and VPs.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on program performance, financial health, and strategic initiatives.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of senior managers to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation within the team.
  • Support the professional development of team members through coaching, training, and performance management.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Management, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in a senior operational or financial management role.
  • Proven experience in project management, financial oversight, and strategic planning.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
  • Ability to assess alignment between operational outcomes and proposed human resources
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the environmental sector and clean economy is an asset.
