Talent Acquisition Team Leader
Our client is seeking a Talent Acquisition Team Leader to enhance their recruitment efforts. The successful candidate will provide direction, support, and mentorship to the Talent Acquisition team while ensuring effective recruitment practices are upheld.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Talent Acquisition Management
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners to offer insights and strategies for recruitment and advertising to attract a diverse candidate pool.
  • Oversee the recruitment process by managing the activities of Talent Acquisition professionals, which encompass:
    • creating job postings,
    • advertising roles on various platforms,
    • developing screening criteria,
    • collecting and distributing resumes to hiring managers,
    • coordinating interview schedules,
    • gathering and organizing interview feedback,
    • conducting pre-employment checks,
    • drafting offer letters,
    • closing competition files.
  • Participate in interview panels as the representative for People, offering guidance on best practices and legal requirements while providing impartial feedback on candidates.
  • Review or create salary recommendations for positions, subject to final approval by hiring leaders and HR Business Partners.
  • Ensure adherence to Collective Agreements, employment terms, and relevant policies and procedures.
  • Educate hiring managers on effective recruitment practices.
  • Foster an exceptional candidate and employee experience throughout the recruitment journey.
  • Develop and maintain a sustainable process for talent pipelines with prospective candidates and previous applicants for future hiring needs.
  • Utilize technology platforms such as LinkedIn and Indeed to enhance marketing and brand visibility.
  • Effectively use LinkedIn Recruiter to source passive candidates and uncover hidden talent for current or future roles.
  • Report all recruitment metrics (e.g., time to fill, diversity metrics) to leadership on a regular basis.
  • Monitor the Careers shared mailbox to ensure inquiries are addressed promptly.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes and create efficiencies, collaborating with the Manager of People, HR Business Partners, and internal clients to resolve process gaps.
  • Update and maintain recruitment templates, forms, and checklists.
  • Work with the Manager of People to develop and implement new tools and processes in collaboration with the team and internal clients.
  • Propose and test new ideas, assisting in the development and execution of recruitment-related projects.
  • Actively engage in HR process improvement initiatives.
Leadership and Team Development
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support on various talent acquisition matters.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Talent Acquisition professionals, ensuring development plans are in place to enhance competencies.
  • Set clear objectives and expectations for the team aligned with client needs and business goals.
  • Foster a culture of high-quality support and service excellence.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of Talent Acquisition processes to uphold quality assurance.
  • Manage the workloads and priorities of the Talent Acquisition team effectively.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the team to share key learnings and promote individual and team growth.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of People to establish performance goals and provide feedback as necessary.
  • Recognize team members' contributions in a timely and meaningful manner.
  • Engage in process improvement initiatives and talent management projects as directed.
  • Assist in resolving issues raised by the team and escalate as needed.
  • Address client concerns while supporting the Talent Acquisition team and ensuring effective resolutions.
  • Complete external surveys as required.
Leadership in Talent Acquisition Functions
  • Develop, implement, and maintain recruitment-related practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Establish quality assurance processes, metrics, audits, and reports to ensure data integrity in talent acquisition.
  • Create and maintain training materials to enhance the recruitment skills of hiring leaders.
  • Facilitate sessions on best practices and processes in Talent Acquisition.
  • Participate and lead relevant working groups and committees.
  • As part of the People & Culture Leadership Team, collaborate on business plan initiatives to support the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to workforce planning strategies and establish recruitment targets aligned with the strategic plan.
  • Lead initiatives designed to enhance the employer brand and value proposition.
  • Conduct industry research, analyze data, and prepare reports and recommendations as needed.
  • Play a significant role in developing submissions for employer awards.
  • Stay informed on best and emerging practices in recruitment and HR trends.
Your qualifications include:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in talent acquisition is preferred.
  • An undergraduate degree in human resources, management, business, commerce, or a related field. Equivalent qualifications will be considered.
  • Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation is preferred.
  • Possession or pursuit of CPHR designation is considered an asset.
  • A solid understanding of staffing principles, best practices, and recruitment processes.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft, SAP, and other applicant tracking systems.
