Your success will be defined by your ability to:
Talent Acquisition (80%)
- Within the designated client portfolio, the Recruitment Specialist is accountable for the planning and execution of full-cycle recruitment for all individual contributor positions (temporary, contract, and permanent) across the organization, including:
- Craft innovative and compelling job advertisements, adhering to organizational standards.
- Engage in discussions regarding marketing and recruitment strategies with hiring managers to cultivate a robust and diverse candidate pool.
- Formulate pre-screening inquiries as necessary.
- Conduct preliminary phone or virtual screening interviews as required.
- Establish screening criteria for hiring managers and evaluate resumes accordingly.
- Coordinate with candidates to schedule interviews, including reserving suitable meeting spaces for in-person discussions.
- Prepare draft interview frameworks for hiring managers to review and finalize.
- Facilitate the collection and completion of Confidentiality Agreements.
- Participate in interview panels as needed, providing objective insights on candidates.
- Compile interview materials for hiring panels.
- Prepare and present compensation recommendations to hiring managers.
- Conduct all pre-employment verifications (e.g., background checks, education confirmations, reference checks, etc.).
- Extend verbal offers to candidates and assist in offer negotiations, as well as prepare formal offer letters.
- Address or facilitate responses to candidate inquiries as necessary.
- Provide constructive feedback to unsuccessful candidates upon request.
- Adopt a consultative approach to talent acquisition, ensuring the entire process yields a positive and effective experience for both hiring managers and candidates through effective coaching, planning, communication, and delivery of results.
- Gain insights into the business areas within the assigned client group and cultivate strong relationships with hiring managers, equipping them with the knowledge and tools necessary to support the recruitment process.
- Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners to ensure that comprehensive and accurate job descriptions are submitted prior to job postings.
- Adhere to Collective Agreements, Terms and Conditions of Employment, and organizational Policies and Procedures regarding compensation and salary placements.
- Exercise due diligence in maintaining and storing all records related to recruitment processes.
- Proactively source talent by leveraging networks and utilizing professional platforms to identify and attract qualified candidates (both active and passive).
- Update the Recruitment Tracker to ensure timely and accurate reporting of talent acquisition metrics.
- Actively engage in initiatives aimed at improving the Talent Acquisition process.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Talent Acquisition practices, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor and respond to candidate inquiries in the Careers inbox.
- Address internal employee inquiries related to talent acquisition matters.
- Oversee the process for adjusting pay scales following further education advancements for Faculty employees.
- Propose training ideas and co-facilitate training sessions to enhance the skills of leaders.
- Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare reports/recommendations as needed.
- Participate in relevant working groups or committees.
- Stay informed about emerging practices in Talent Acquisition and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Engage in professional development activities to maintain skills in line with changes and trends in Talent Acquisition.
- Assist with company-wide events that enhance the learner experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in talent acquisition is preferred.
- A diploma or degree in human resources, management, business, commerce, or a related field. Equivalent qualifications will be considered.
- Progress towards or possession of a Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation.
- CPHR designation is considered an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent business acumen.
