We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager to join our team at KPMG Canada. As a Manager of Indigenous Relations, you will play a key role in building and maintaining effective relationships with Indigenous Peoples across our existing operations and new markets.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to support Indigenous-led organizations and First Nation clients in accounting assistance, year-end reporting, and general advisory needs.
- Apply KPMG's audit and accounting practices and methodologies at client engagements, including conducting external and internal financial statement audits for both public and private companies.
- Guide and mentor junior staff members, providing coaching and support to ensure their success in the role.
- Perform analysis of complex accounting issues and provide guidance on financial and systems analysis.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients on various First Nations Communities, identifying opportunities for growth and development.
- Proven track record of working with Indigenous communities, organizations, companies, and individuals.
- Experience in fund accounting and disclosure, with a strong understanding of Indigenous service Canada requirements.
- Canadian CPA designation or international equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience working with a public practice accounting firm.
- Excellent client service skills, with the ability to understand and develop strong client relationships.
- Ability to manage conflicting demands and priorities, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service, with a proven background of building a client base and adding revenue.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
