Position: Seasonal Community Engagement Coordinator
Become a vital part of a compassionate and dynamic organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of isolated seniors. At Les Petits Frères, our mission is to alleviate loneliness among elderly individuals through meaningful interactions and engaging activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and execution of various social and recreational activities tailored for seniors, collaborating closely with team members.
- Provide essential logistical support for event planning and implementation.
- Facilitate and lead specific activities aimed at fostering community among the elderly.
- Conduct home visits to seniors, including those in residences, care facilities, and hospitals.
- Monitor and report any changes in the health or living conditions of elderly participants.
- Perform follow-up communications with seniors and volunteers to ensure ongoing support.
- Help coordinate outings and excursions for elderly individuals.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of activities and interactions.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing post-secondary education, preferably having completed at least two years in fields such as social work, recreation management, psychology, or related disciplines.
- A genuine passion for supporting the elderly community.
- Familiarity with nonprofit organizations and their operations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be diplomatic and attentive to the needs of others.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Creative and innovative mindset for developing engaging activities.
Employment Details
· Temporary position for a duration of 8 weeks
· 35 hours of work per week
· Compensation at an hourly rate of $19
· Flexible working hours with a combination of onsite and remote work options
Eligibility Criteria
· Candidates must be between the ages of 15 and 30
· Must possess legal authorization to work in Canada
