The Canadian Cancer Society is seeking a dedicated Community Engagement Director to lead our Relay For Life committee. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing initiatives that engage existing and new community partners in our fundraising events.
As the Community Engagement Director, you will work closely with the Relay Director, Logistics to create a successful event. Your primary focus will be on maintaining and developing relationships with community partners, promoting the event, and securing sponsorships.
You will lead a team of volunteers, each with a portfolio focused on promotional and fundraising aspects of the event. Your leadership skills will be crucial in motivating and supporting this team through pre-Relay activities and on event day.
Success in this role will be measured by the number of community partners engaged, the level of event promotion, and the overall success of the Relay For Life event.
We are looking for a candidate who understands the importance of community engagement and has the leadership skills to motivate a team to achieve our goals.
As a Community Engagement Director, you will have the opportunity to learn and mentor as you engage with CCS staff and volunteers.
We offer online resources and training, as well as staff support to help you lead the community engagement side of the Relay committee and be an effective people leader.
Your commitment will include leading regular monthly meetings with the committee, engaging in small group or one-to-one mentorship meetings with each of your committee members, and providing regular communication with the CCS Staff Partner.
