Job Title: Director of Portfolio Strategy and Analytics

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liquidity Management and Reporting: Develop and implement effective liquidity management processes, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams and flawless execution.
  • Business Analytics and Reporting: Design and deliver high-quality business analytics and reporting solutions, leveraging in-house tools to support daily portfolio management decision making and deliver exceptional client deliverables.
  • Investment Strategy and Optimization: Provide strategic guidance and expertise to assist in investment strategy reviews across Sun Life's business groups, ensuring alignment with SLC's cutting-edge capabilities and resources.
  • Surplus and General Portfolio Management: Coordinate discussions and ensure seamless alignment on centralized surplus investment strategies, driving unparalleled consistency in decision-making and actions across Sun Life's legal entities.
  • Board and Senior Management Reporting and Planning: Lead the quarterly process for reporting SLC investment performance to the Governance, Investment and Sustainability Committee (GISC), and lead the annual business and strategic planning activities related to asset supply.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in insurance investment strategy or a related field, with a deep and comprehensive understanding of modern portfolio theory, asset pricing, and risk management.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear, compelling, and impactful manner.
  • Extensive knowledge of broad asset classes and a working knowledge of Sun Life's liability profiles.
  • Proven track record in delivering innovative, industry-leading solutions and cultivating strong, collaborative working relationships across various functional areas.
