THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a Sales and Estimation Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in significant infrastructure initiatives across Canada. Your responsibilities will include preparing estimates, managing project execution, drafting tender documents, and collaborating with both internal teams and external partners to drive project success.

The ideal candidate is proactive, intelligent, and maintains a positive outlook. A minimum of five years' experience in estimating within the construction sector, particularly in bridge projects, is essential. Proficiency in computer applications, the ability to interpret blueprints, and strong communication skills are critical.

As a Sales and Estimation Project Manager, you will:
  • Conduct precise estimates and take-offs for projects, covering labor, materials, and components.
  • Analyze contract documents and specifications to comprehend bidding requirements.
  • Oversee projects from estimation through to completion, ensuring timely delivery and budget compliance.
  • Prepare and submit tender documents in accordance with strict deadlines.
  • Manage project timelines and actively seek opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with external professionals and project managers to ensure successful project execution.
  • Foster a strong team environment through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Anticipate and resolve project conflicts, implementing solutions to mitigate issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Travel may be necessary, although the majority of work will be conducted remotely.
YOU ARE/HAVE:
  • Integrity: A person of integrity, respected by peers and within the industry.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in estimating and construction, particularly in bridge projects.
  • Education: Relevant degree or equivalent experience; PEng designation is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in preparing estimates for concrete and structural steel components.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints, design drawings, and other relevant documentation.

Project Oversight:

  • Capability to manage a project from inception to completion.
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Conduct project reviews post-completion to identify areas for enhancement and provide recommendations.
  • Ability to foresee project conflicts, develop preventative strategies, and implement solutions to avert issues.

Communication Skills:

  • Ability to maintain a positive work environment through effective communication with clients, contractors, colleagues, suppliers, and supervisors.
  • Confident and respectful in client interactions, focused on helping them achieve their project objectives.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Ability to contribute to a strong team environment through collaboration and teamwork.
  • Strong negotiation and closing abilities.

Work Environment:

  • Some travel may be required, but the majority of work will be conducted remotely.
