Title: Project Lead - Sales and Estimation Industry: Infrastructure/Construction Location: Armstrong, BC Compensation: A competitive salary. based on ability, experience, and education Purpose of this role: To manage and oversee projects from quoting to completion, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and meet the company’s standards. THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a Sales and Project Lead, you will be involved in some of Canada’s largest infrastructure projects. You will complete estimates, manage projects, prepare tender documents, and work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.

The ideal candidate is driven, smart, and possesses a positive attitude. You should have a minimum of five years’ experience in estimating and the construction industry, particularly in bridge construction. Strong computer skills, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and excellent communication skills are essential.

As a Sales and Project Lead, you will:
  • Complete accurate estimates and take-offs for projects, including labor, parts, materials, and coatings.

  • Review contract documents and specifications to understand bidding requirements.

  • Oversee projects from estimation to completion, ensuring they are on time and within budget.

  • Prepare and submit tender documents following strict deadlines.

  • Manage project schedules and proactively look for improvement opportunities.

  • Collaborate with external professionals and project managers to coordinate project completion.

  • Contribute to a strong team environment through effective communication and teamwork.

  • Anticipate and address project conflicts, implementing solutions to avoid issues.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Some travel may be required, but the majority of time will be in the office.

YOU ARE/HAVE:
  • Integrity: You are a person of integrity, respected by your peers and within the industry.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in estimating and construction, particularly bridge construction.

  • Education: Relevant degree or equivalent work experience, PEng is advantageous.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

    • Experience in preparing estimates for concrete and structural steel components.

    • Strong ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints, design drawings, plans, and other relevant documentation.

  • Project Oversight:

    • Ability to oversee a project from concept to completion.

    • Highly organized with the ability to multitask and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Conduct project reviews upon completion to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations.

    • Ability to anticipate project conflicts, plan preventative action plans, and implement solutions to avoid issues.

  • Communication Skills:

    • Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective communication with customers, contractors, coworkers, suppliers, and supervisors.

    • Confident and respectful in customer interactions, aiming to help them achieve their project goals.

  • Interpersonal Skills:

    • Ability to contribute to a strong team environment through collaboration and teamwork.

    • Strong negotiating and closing skills.

  • Work Environment:

    • Some travel may be required, but the majority of time will be in the office.

  • Additional Qualities:

    • Proactive in looking for improvement opportunities for estimating and managing projects.
