Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and evaluate programs tailored for Indigenous students
- Offer comprehensive support services to Indigenous learners
- Engage in initiatives aimed at student retention and academic assistance
- Champion the interests and needs of Indigenous students
Indigenous Student Support Services:
- Organize and facilitate E-mentoring and transition programs
- Collaborate with Indigenous Education Managers
- Support sponsored Indigenous students
- Provide guidance on academic policies
- Connect students with Elders and Traditional Knowledge Keepers
Administrative Duties:
- Engage in campus committees and communities promoting Indigenous wellness
- Assist in special projects and evaluations of programs
- Maintain and update online resources for Indigenous services
- Respond to student inquiries effectively
Qualifications:
- Personal experience as First Nations, Métis, or Inuit
- Degree in Indigenous Studies or a related field
- A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience
- Understanding of student development theories
- Experience working with Indigenous communities
- Proficient computer skills
- Familiarity with trauma-informed practices
- In-depth knowledge of the social and academic challenges faced by Indigenous students
- Experience in crisis intervention strategies
Compensation:
Salary: Starting Rate: $41.12; Four Year Rate: $47.67
Work Schedule:
Hours: 35 hours per week; Monday to Friday (8:30 am – 4:30 pm)
