Durham College is on the lookout for skilled educators to join our Faculty of Liberal Studies as part-time instructors. We seek individuals who are dedicated to fostering student achievement and are committed to delivering high-quality education. The successful candidates will be tasked with teaching a variety of courses centered on Indigenous studies. Some of the courses include:
- Conflict, Colonization, and Courage: First Nations, Métis, and Inuit in Canada
- First Nations, Métis and Inuit Representation in Media and Popular Culture
- Indigenous Resiliency in the Modern Era
- Exploring Métis Identity
Key Responsibilities of Part-time Instructors:
- Fostering an inclusive educational atmosphere
- Engaging learners through principles of adult education
- Utilizing technology effectively to enhance learning
- Designing relevant curricula and assessments
- Collaborating with students and stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Master's or PhD preferred)
- A minimum of five years of pertinent professional experience
- Preference for candidates from Indigenous communities
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level
- Dedication to student experience and lifelong learning
