POSITION INFORMATION:

This full-time support staff position is situated within the Communications & Marketing department, focusing on student recruitment strategies. The Senior Recruitment Officer will report directly to the Director of Marketing & Student Recruitment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Recruitment Officer will spearhead the development and execution of Durham College's Non-direct Recruitment strategy aimed at achieving domestic student recruitment and enrollment objectives as outlined in the Enrolment Management Plan.

This role is pivotal in expanding the non-direct student market, particularly among equity-deserving populations. The officer will enhance the institution's public image, engage with the community, and drive student enrollment through strategic outreach and communication efforts. Responsibilities include:

  • Building and nurturing relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Customizing recruitment plans to effectively target non-direct prospective students.
  • Coordinating content for promotional materials, presentations, and webinars.
  • Implementing a comprehensive lead generation strategy to ensure a robust application pool.
  • Advising the recruitment team on strategies to meet application targets.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of college programs and services.
  • Mentoring junior recruitment officers in effective communication and recruitment techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A minimum of a 3-year diploma or degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a post-secondary context, with a strong understanding of student recruitment trends.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to provide strategic recommendations and insights.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, preferably Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity in all professional interactions.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
